How 3DS BIMcheck Compares
An honest look at what else is on the market for IFC model checking and scan verification, what it costs, and where 3DS BIMcheck fits. Paid products only — prices as published by each vendor, sources at the bottom.
Model checking
Federating IFC models, finding clashes and validating the delivered information against a ruleset. This is the market Solibri has led for two decades.
| Product | Federate IFC | Clash detection | IDS rulesets | Point cloud | Price per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3DS BIMcheck | Yes | Yes | Yes | Analysed | €990 · €1,990 perpetual |
| Solibri Starter | Yes | No | No | No | €99 |
| Solibri Essential | Yes | Yes | Limited | No | €1,428 |
| Solibri Advanced | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | €2,109 |
| Solibri Premium | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | €2,772 |
| BIMcollab Zoom Single | Yes | Yes | Yes | Display only | €720 |
| Autodesk Navisworks Manage | Yes | Yes | No IFC rule checking | Display only | ≈ $1,940 unconfirmed |
| usBIM (ACCA) | Yes | Sold separately | Sold separately | Sold separately | Not published |
Scan verification
Comparing the model against a point cloud of what was actually built. A different market, with different vendors — and one striking habit: almost nobody publishes a price.
| Product | Type | What it does | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3DS BIMcheck | Desktop | Millimetre deviation heatmap, which modelled solids the scan actually touches, and a coverage list of solids with no scan points at all | €99 / month |
| ClearEdge3D Verity | Desktop | The benchmark: element-by-element classification as installed, deviated or missing | Not published |
| Imerso | Cloud | Automatic model-versus-scan comparison, results in roughly three hours | On quote, per project |
| Hexagon Construction Analysis formerly Avvir | Cloud | As-built versus BIM at element level | Not published |
| Leica Cyclone 3DR | Desktop | BIM analysis, heatmaps, BCF export | $4,500 / year |
| FARO BuildIT Construction | Desktop | Comparison against CAD/BIM with tolerance checking | Not published |
| Trimble RealWorks | Desktop | 2D and 3D comparison from the Core tier upwards | Not published |
| Autodesk Navisworks | Desktop | Clash Detective does not recognise point clouds as clash geometry | See above |
Where that leaves 3DS BIMcheck
Both tables point the same way. There is no product below €2,500 that does model checking and scan verification in one desktop tool. The nearest options are BIMcollab Zoom at €720 a year, which is strong on IFC and IDS but only displays point clouds, and Solibri Premium at €2,772 a year, which does both but costs more per year than our perpetual licence costs once.
3DS BIMcheck runs entirely on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, there is no project subscription and no per-gigabyte charge for scan data — which matters if your client's scan may not leave the building.
What 3DS BIMcheck does not do
- It does not classify as-built elements the way Verity or Imerso do. It shows you the deviation, which modelled solids the scan touches, and which ones it never reaches — it does not produce an element-by-element installed / deviated / missing report, and it does not detect objects that were built but never modelled.
- Coverage is an attention list, not a completeness percentage. An object with no points may be absent, or simply out of the scanner's line of sight. You decide which.
- No cloud processing, no project dashboards, no automatic issue assignment. Findings leave as BCF 2.1, Excel or HTML.
- Windows only.
Two recent changes worth knowing
Solibri Anywhere, the free viewer, is being retired at the end of 2026; viewing moves to the Starter tier at €99 a year. And Solibri CheckPoint — the former Verifi3D by Xinaps — was withdrawn from sale on 13 April 2026, with customers directed to the Essential or Advanced tiers.
Notes and sources
Prices as published by each vendor in August 2026, excluding VAT, per user unless stated otherwise. Dollar amounts are listed in the vendor's own currency and not converted. Vendors change pricing and packaging without notice — always confirm with the vendor before deciding. Navisworks standalone pricing comes from third parties and the figures contradicted each other, so it is marked unconfirmed. Feature columns reflect what each vendor documents publicly; we have not tested every product ourselves.
